The Greek court ruled that Nikos Mihaloliakos, the leader of the far-right criminal organization Golden Dawn Party, who was sentenced to 13 years in prison, and the organization’s executive staff were arrested and sent to prison.
The Court of Appeal of Athens, the capital of Greece, rejected the suspension of the prison sentences imposed on Mihaloliakos, leader of the Golden Dawn Party, and other directors of the organization Ilias Kasidiaris, Ilias Panagiotaros, Yiannis Lagos, Giorgos Germenis, Nikos Papas and Panagiotis Iliopoulos.
Following the verdict, 39 members of the Golden Dawn will go to jail, 7 of whom are guilty of leading a criminal organization.
The sentences of the other 12 of the 51 defendants who were tried in the context of the case were postponed. On the other hand, it was indicated that the members of Golden Dawn, who were ordered to be arrested, went to the police of their own free will and began to surrender.
