Teams from the Cyber Crimes Branch of the Provincial Police Department, under the coordination of the Ankara Attorney General’s Office of Information Crimes, followed the gang who defrauded many people by promising to provide a consulting service of vehicle inspection through copy website. It was understood that the scammers, who brought their sites to the forefront on social media and promised free vehicle inspection to vehicle owners thanks to the ads they gave to Internet browsers, made a profit of 2 million lira annually in this way.
Simultaneous operations were carried out against the suspects operating through 3 different companies in Istanbul, Antalya, Bursa, Aksaray and Isparta. 24 people were arrested in the operation. 14 suspects were released after their security statements. 10 people were sent to Ankara for legal proceedings.

A large amount of digital materials and money were seized during a search of the detainees’ houses. It was learned that one of the suspects was running the site he established from his village house in Aksaray. In the search of the house of the fraud suspect, 266 thousand 400 TL of money were seized with 8 laptops. The suspects have been known to continue their operations at the police station.
