Atalanta hosted Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League Group D match of the third week.
Italy’s flash team Atalanta suffered a heavy defeat against Liverpool. Ending 2-0 in the first half, Liverpool made the score 5-0 in the first 10 minutes of the second half. There were no more goals in the remaining minutes and the British giant won differently.
In Liverpool, Jota, who scored a hat-trick, became a star, while the other goals came from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
After this result, Liverpool reached 9 points by making three thirds. Atalanta stayed at 4 points.
Ajax won in Denmark
In the other group match, Ajax was the guest of the Danish team Midtjylland. Leading with Antony’s goal in the first minute, Ajax made the score 2-0 with Dusan Tadic in the 13th minute. Although the host reduced the gap to one with Anders Dreyer in the 18th minute, this goal was not enough for the points and the Dutch team won 2-1 on the road.
Ajax increased their score to 4 with this victory, while Midtjylland has yet to deliver points.
