Similar to the attack on health professionals at the Keçiören Research and Training Hospital in Ankara, the Cebeci Hospital of the Ankara University Faculty of Medicine took place last night. Relatives of the patient, who was transferred to the Pediatric Intensive Care Service as a result of his accident, tried to attack the health personnel for unknown reasons. Health workers also cared for themselves by putting medical devices behind them so as not to open the intensive care door. Private security guards carried out the first intervention on the patients’ relatives. Relatives of the patients were removed from the door by police teams that arrived later. Five people involved in the incident were arrested.

Videos about the incident were shared from the Twitter account of the Union of Health and Social Services Workers (SES) and the reaction was shown. In the message shared with the note ‘We condemn violence against health workers’, it was said: “We condemn violence against health workers who were attacked by the relatives of the patients of the Pediatric Intensive Care Service of Cebeci Hospital from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine last night and tried to protect themselves by holding the doors. Our fight against health violence will continue. ” .

Chest disease specialist at the Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and member of the Scientific Committee of the Ministry of Health Prof. Dr. Akın Kaya also condemned the attack on his Twitter account. Kaya said: “We condemn the ugly attack and violence against our health professionals last night in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Cebeci Hospital of Ankara University. Legal proceedings have been initiated regarding the incident and we hope that the criminals will receive necessary punishment, “Kaya said.

At the Ankara Keçiören Research and Training Hospital, on September 22, relatives of patients attacked health professionals. Health workers had set up barricades behind the door to protect against attacks. As a result of the investigation initiated by the Ankara Attorney General’s Office, an indictment was issued and a lawsuit was brought against 5 people involved in the incident, demanding a prison sentence of up to 8 years and 6 months for ‘resisting not complying with their duty ‘and’ damage public property.
