Yalova Municipality officials approached the Provincial Police Department after the detection of irregular transactions in the accounting records of Reşat E, who worked at the Directorate of Financial Services, on February 6, and a criminal complaint was filed with the prosecution.
In addition to Reşat E, who was captured in Denizli and taken to Yalova, Deputy Mayor Halit Güleç, financial services manager Ş.RK and contractor Bekir B. were arrested. Güleç’s secretary, later detained, and the accounting staff of the company cited in the OG investigation file, as well as TT, H.Ç. and the transfer to prison of 10 suspects, who allegedly received irregular payments from EG and the municipality, raised the number of detainees in the investigation to 19.
