Altai coronavirus nightmare: 34 positives

The Altay-Giresunspor match, which should be played on Sunday in the TFF First League, was postponed due to new types of coronavirus (Kovid-19) in the host team. Altay, one of the TFF’s first league teams, announced that a total of 34 positive cases were detected in the Covid-19 tests carried out throughout the club.

The following statements were included in the statement.

“In the COVID-19 tests carried out before the Altay – Altınordu match, the results of 9 of our footballers and in the tests carried out yesterday, the results of our 8 players were positive.

At this point, the COVID-10 tests of our 20 players on our A-team list and 4 of our young players on the list are positive, and the relevant isolation protocol from the TFF and the Ministry of Health is meticulously applied to a total of 24 players and the treatment processes continue.

In addition, a total of 34 positive cases were identified throughout the club, including our coach Yücel Ildiz, 3 professional team coaches, 1 accreditation officer, 2 health workers, 2 equipment and 1 field officer.

In accordance with TFF instructions, Giresunspor’s match, which should be played on Sunday in the 7th week of the 1st League, has been postponed to a later date.
