Meral Akşener, chairman of the İYİ Party, opened the park named after Nihat Gürer, who passed away three years ago.
As the name of the CHP Çiğli municipality in İzmir, Akşener’s late brother Nihat Gürer could not control his tears when the park opened.
“MY FATHER WAS A GOOD CONSCIOUS HUMAN”
Speaking after the opening, Akşener used the following statements:
* I had a very pleasant surprise. Many thanks to everyone who contributed. We are four brothers, I am the daughter of an immigrant family from Rumelia. My father was my grandfather’s only son and my brother was my father’s only son.
* My brother was a good and conscientious person, so I will never forget to give his name to a place where children can have fun and play.
* I would like to express my deepest thanks to everyone who contributed. I owe him my perseverance in politics, he was a moral man, conscientious, of course, so I hope he takes care of the children who play in the park with this image.
