IYI Party Chairman Meral Akşener was the guest of Şirin Payzın on Halk TV. Speaking about his presidential candidacy, Akşener said:
* Of course I would love to be like everyone else. I also believe and trust that we will do very well. This is something else. There is a long time before the issue of the presidency comes.
* We do not know when there will be elections. We are part of the concept called the Nation Alliance. Of course, it will be created through mutual conversation. I would say that I will not play with the future president of the Republic of Turkey.
NOMINATION OF ABDULLAH GÜL
“Do you foresee the victory of the opposition in the next presidential elections?” Akşener answered the question, “I think one hundred percent,” and spoke about the possible presidential candidacy of Abdullah Gül.
Akşener said: “When that day comes, you will be taken care of. I mean it very sincerely. “I had no objection to Mr. Gül on June 24,” he said.

* I was not the priority here. But the candidacy was everyone’s business. He had a situation of being the common candidate of all political parties. Mr. Gül is my friend. I don’t have a negative opinion about him.
* But in the conditions of that day, I believed that the steps to follow should be calculated in a period in which Mr. I believe this is also true today.
* This is what I saw on June 24; There is a group of friends we can call a left liberal who loves Mr. Gul. We went to the elections there, hastily. Because the election was announced so as not to elect our party. The mechanism was for the IYI Party not to enter.
“I SEE EVERYTHING FIRST”
Commenting once again on the People’s Alliance’s call to ‘go home’, Akşener continued as follows:
* It is said that “everyone can do anything”, but Meral Akşener cannot do everything. No condition can make me be in a system for the sake of my mansip. Look, I’m one of the founders of the AK Party, I was at the beginning, I left. No journalist asked me why I left that day.
* Years have passed since then, and there were those who left. There were those who left as they saw it. I’ve seen it all first. I also have nation-oriented constants within me. In 2015, Mr. Davutoğlu offered me the post of Deputy Prime Minister with the knowledge of the President. I declined. Today I am not a deputy, I am only the leader of the IYI Party.
“WE ARE SEEN AS AN ELEMENT OF THREAT”

CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT OF İMAMOĞLU AND YAVAŞ
In response to the approval of the names of Ekrem İmamoğlu and Mansur Yavaş for the presidential candidacy, Akşener said:
* I sincerely want these friends to be successful. Despite all the difficult conditions, I find them both really successful. The main thing is to eat grapes, not hit the vine. I want all of our mayors to show first-class success. They are already condemned to this. If there is a flaw, first I tell them, then I share them. Voters are benefactors.
EARLY ELECTION DATE
Akşener said that given the possibility of early elections, “he will not move to Turkey until 2023. It could be like June 2021. We are ready. It is not correct to speak on behalf of everyone, but we are prepared on behalf of the IYI Party.”
