The Interior Ministry’s Emergency and Disaster Management Authority (AFAD) announced that the number of people who died in the İzmir earthquake increased to 116.
According to the AFAD statement, after the 6.6 magnitude earthquake that occurred on October 30, a total of 3,630 aftershocks were registered, of which 48 were more than 4.

On Friday 10.30.2020, at 2:51 p.m., after the 6.6 magnitude earthquake off the Aegean Sea in Seferihisar, a total of 3,630 aftershocks were experienced, 48 of which were more than 4.
According to information received from SAKOM, 116 citizens lost their lives. 1,021 of our 1,034 citizens who were injured were discharged and 8 of our citizens continue to receive treatment.
Search and rescue activities in İzmir have been completed and debris removal work continues meticulously.
ESTABLISHMENT OF TEMPORARY HOUSING CENTERS
In İzmir province; 474 to Bornova Âşık Veysel Recreation Area, 95 to Bornova City Stadium, 97 to Buca Old Stada, 160 to Buca Hipdoram, 19 to Bayraklı Tepekule Marketplace, 300 to Bayraklı Camel Wrestling Area, to Bayraklı 75. Yıl Park 51 75 to Bayraklı Parks Hakan Ünal-Sakarya, 27 to Bayraklı Şahin Akar Park, 75 to Bayraklı Galen Hospital, 99 to Bayraklı Ice Rink, 31 to Bayraklı Master’s House, 157 to Bayraklı Bilal Çakırcalı-Barış Manklıçıç Park 1,760 have been installed tents throughout Izmir, including 50 in Eceler Park, 27 in Bayraklı Unesco Youth Park, 20 in Bayraklı Martyr Murat Aslantürk Park.
The infrastructure works have begun for the establishment of a temporary accommodation center, once the work is finished, it is planned to install 550 containers in the first stage.
In temporary accommodation facilities; A total of 277 disaster victims are housed, 261 in KYK dormitories and 16 in private dormitories.
WORKING GROUPS CONTINUE THEIR ACTIVITIES IN THE REGION
A total of 8,712 people with 1,242 vehicles were assigned for all post-earthquake works, and currently 5,933 people continue to work with 889 vehicles in the field.
A total of 1,186 people, 930 from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and 256 from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, were assigned to the damage assessment studies in the region.
According to the information provided by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, there is no negative situation in the communications infrastructure.
According to the information obtained from the Coast Guard Command, 28 vessels sank and 42 vessels ran aground due to the earthquake. As a result of the work carried out, 25 vessels were removed from the water and 41 vessels were rescued. Rescue efforts for 3 sinking ships and 1 stranded ship continue.
In the area of nutrition service, 741,745 people / food service were provided in the region. In addition, 272,307 hot and cold beverages, 234,066 catering materials and 371,005 water were distributed. The works are carried out with 403 people and 37 vehicles.
Turkey’s Disaster Response Plan (TAMPA) covered the previously determined Izmir fair area with 11,500 m2 of storage space in the Cultural Park, activated with 150 people.
569 people from the psychosocial support work group with 48 vehicles participated in the field work and 25,225 people were interviewed. In addition to 4 mobile social service centers, 2 more mobile social service centers were delivered in the earthquake area.
277 staff members, including 245 riot police and 32 traffic staff from the Traffic Safety Task Force, were dispatched to the scene. A total of 132 construction teams and 191 people work in the field of technical support and supply.
In the region, 291 vehicles and 1,109 UMKE personnel and 112 Emergency teams were assigned.
A TOTAL OF 48 MILLION TL OF RESOURCES WERE SENT TO THE EARTHQUAKE AREA
A resource of 23,000,000 TL was transferred by the Presidency of the AFAD, 18,000,000 TL by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services and 7,000,000 TL by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization to be used in the studies.
DASK
18,000 notifications of damage were made to the Natural Disaster Insurance Institution (DASK). The payment made on 11/13/2020 reached TL 27,000,000. The work continues.
ASSISTANCE TO OUR CITIZENS IN CASE OF DISASTER
Citizens unable to pay for their belongings will receive a material aid of TL 30,000 per household in relation to the demolished buildings. During the earthquake in İzmir, TL 13,000 for owners of destroyed, emergency demolished and heavily damaged houses, and TL 5,000 for tenants in this situation will receive assistance with moving and renting. According to the damage assessment studies carried out in Seferihisar, the Government will provide assistance according to the damage situation of the merchants who were damaged in the coastal area.
In accordance with Turkey’s Disaster Response Plan, search and rescue, health, to function without interruption of the support work, the Presidency of Disaster and Emergency Management of the Ministry of the Interior (AFAD) in coordination with all working groups , was activated by the operation of 7 days 24 hours.

Damaged buildings in the disaster area should never be entered. Support should be provided for infants, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities who may need assistance.
