According to the information received, 10 trucks with license plate SJ 275 under the administration of Mesut Ece crashed in the opposite lane when colliding with 10 cars E 3152 under Özkan Özgüneş at the Edincik slaughterhouse on the Bandırma-Çanakkale road and collided with 10 ambulances with plate DDA 26 under the control of Tezca Tekin
Police, health and firefighters were dispatched to the crash site after the surrounding citizens gave information.
In the accident, the ambulance driver Tezca Tekin and the truck driver Mesut Ece, the patient Hicabiye Ceylan and his fellow relative Ayşegül Işıkhan, who were in the ambulance, lost their lives. Yasin Anat and Süleyman Arif Öztürk, two ambulance medical workers, were injured.
The injured were taken to Bandırma State Hospital. The bodies of those who lost their lives were sent to the morgue of the Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Training and Research Hospital.
Some of the sheep loaded onto the truck chassis also died.
The car driver Özkan Özgüneş was also detained.
Balıkesir Provincial Health Director Serkan Kadir Keskin, Bandırma District Governor Günhan Yazar, District Police Chief Soner Duran, and Gönen State Hospital Chief Physician Ersin Atıcı attended the Gönen State Hospital. Bandırma and received information from the authorities.
Many health personnel also went to the hospital who learned of the accident.
