Two people, a woman, who were staying in the same hotel room in Harbiye, were found dead. While police are initiating a large-scale study into the incident, the exact cause of death for the two will be determined after examination by the Institute of Forensic Medicine.
The incident took place at a hotel in Harbiye Cumhuriyet Caddesi on Monday. Hiranur Korkmaz (42) and Muhammet Osman Gürlek (28) did not leave the room despite their departure day, and the hotel manager suspected the situation and entered the room with the help of a spare key.
The officer saw that Hiranur Korkmaz was lying on the bed and Muhammet Osman Gürlek was lying motionless in the bathroom. After reporting the situation, the police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Health teams determined that the two were dead.
No bruises or scars were found during questioning by the police and the prosecutor. Detailed searches in the hotel room seized powdered substances that were considered drugs. The seized items were turned over to the Criminal Police Laboratory.
The bodies of the two were taken to the morgue of the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy examination. It was known that the exact cause of death of the couple will be determined after the investigation and autopsy.
