Today we had a telephone conversation with the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
At the meeting, we discussed regional steps and issues that will improve the relationship 🇷🇬🇧 in many areas, especially in trade, tourism, defense, agriculture, services, investment and the fight against the coronavirus.
I told Mr Johnson that we are ready to host the Turkish-British Tatlıdil Forum in the second half of this year with the conditions of the epidemic, and expressed my belief that tourism will start in April without barriers and in a safe place. way.
At the meeting, where we highlighted that the signing of the Free Trade Agreement on December 29, 2020 constituted a new turning point in the relations between the two countries, we stressed that the steps to be taken in this context will facilitate the achievement of the objective of bilateral trade volume of 20 billion dollars.
Stating that we welcome the UK’s recent efforts on the Cyprus issue, I noted that with the two-state solution, there will be a win-win situation not only for the two sides of the island, but also for everyone in terms of new opportunities for regional cooperation.
