US President Joe Biden held a press conference after the Senate accepted the $ 1.9 trillion Covid-19 aid package.
In his speech at the press conference, Biden said that as a result of the approval of the aid package called “America’s Rescue Plan” in the Senate, Americans will start receiving $ 1,400 starting this month.
Recalling that it has only been 45 days since he took office in his speech, Biden said: “When I took office, I said that aid to Americans is on the way, today we took a big step to fulfill this promise.
“WE LISTEN TO THE VOICES OF THE AMERICANS”
Recalling that changes were made to the aid package he suggested, Biden emphasized that despite these changes, the essence of the plan remains the same.
Stating that aid accepted in the Senate with 50 Democratic votes to 49 Republican votes will reach more than 85 percent of Americans, Biden said, “We have heard the voices of Americans.”
The aid package adopted by the Senate must be accepted in the House of Representatives before Biden can sign it.
