At 10.30 am in the furniture factory operating in the Akhisar district of the İnegöl district, the steam boiler exploded for unknown reasons.

A small-scale fire broke out after the explosion that occurred with a loud sound. Following the warning, many health, police and fire teams were dispatched to the factory. Firefighters who put out the fire in a short time evacuated the workers.

However, a worker named İlhan Doğan (47), who was in the rubble due to the explosion, died. Workers named Esengül Arslan (47), Murat Baydan (25), Altun Koçak (47), Melahat İpek (61), Bayram Göksu (25) and Daaed Ataya (25) were injured.

HEAVY SITUATION

Four of the injured workers who were transferred to the İnegöl State Hospital and surrounding private hospitals after the first intervention by medical teams at the scene were reported to be in serious condition.

On the other hand, in the factory where there was great panic, the shift supervisor gathered all the employees in front of the door, read their names and turned around to identify the injured or dead.

Police teams launched an investigation into the explosion, in which workers were unable to control their tears.
