Teams from the Public Security Section of the Ankara Police Department started the ‘Lost Property Project’ to find the lost property of people whose valuables, such as phones and wallets, were stolen by unidentified persons. In the study carried out within the scope of the project, it was determined that the lost phones of 3 women were stolen by the ‘pickpockets’ method.
As a result of examining the images of the security cameras in the regions where 3 incidents occurred, the suspect, Edip Ş, nicknamed ‘sansar’. it was found to be. Edip Ş’s moments of grabbing women’s mobile phones with sleight of hand and her escape was reflected in the image.
It was seen in the images that Edip Ş, who took advantage of the crowd formed at the exit of the subway, quickly walked away after touching the phone with the ‘pickpocket’ method. Edip Ş was captured and detained in the early morning operation organized by the police. The suspect, who was determined to be involved in 12 different “pickpocketing” incidents, was arrested by the court to which he was taken and sent to prison.
