The US State Department announced that Anadolu Kültür A.Ş. President Osman Kavala has called on Turkey for release. The statement made by spokesperson Ned Price included the following statements:
“The suspicious accusations against Kavala, the delay in the conclusion of his arrest and trial, as a result of the consolidation of the cases, overshadow the rule of law and the principles of democracy.”
To comply with the decision of the European Court of Human Rights, in a statement, he also urged Turkey to a fair trial of Kavala, it was stated that it would be concluded in a transparent and rapid manner.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The case in which Osman Kavala was tried with Henry Barkey, a senior expert at the Foreign Relations Council (CFR), who lived in the United States and reached the agenda with the meetings held on the night of July 15 in Büyükada, was combined with the Gezi’s judgment. Gezi’s trial will take place on May 21 at the 30 Istanbul High Criminal Court at the Istanbul Court of Justice in Çağlayan.
