Under the leadership and administration of the 9th Command Corps, the combined winter exercise organized by the 14th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Command at Sergeant Major İstikam’s Martyr İstikam Firing and NCO Exercise Area in Kars continues.
Also in attendance were the Minister of National Defense, Hulusi Akar, the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Zakir Hasanov, the Chief of Staff, General Yaşar Güler, the Commander of the Land Forces, General Umit Dündar, the Commander of the Naval Forces, Admiral Adnan Özbal, and the Commander of the Air Force, General Hasan Küçükakyüz.
Distinguished Observer Day activities began with the air operation.
While the targets determined by the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) were hit by the guns, the Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (SİHA) destroyed one target. In the activity where the mortar company fired fog, the F-16s arrived in the area after the ZMA shots. ATAK helicopters appeared in the skies of the exercise area after the targets of the simulated tanks were hit by fighter jets.

TARGETS HIT WITH CİRİT AND UMTAS MISSILES
The ATAKs defeated their targets with locally produced Cirit and UMTAS missiles.
During the exercise, the soldiers advanced in the area opened by the TAMKAR opening system, clearing the mines. Meanwhile, sniper shots were fired. Helicopters and commandos landed in the cleared area after firing from armored vehicles. Meanwhile, the tanks successfully destroyed the targets to protect the commandos.
Howitzers and tanks hit their targets with total precision in the exercise, where the casualty rescue operation was also carried out. During the exercise, he conducted an air supply activity with a transport aircraft affiliated with the Air Force Command. The necessary materials for the troops were thrown from the aircraft to the exercise area.
FLAGS OF TURKEY AND AZERBAIJAN OPEN

At the end of the exercise, the Special Forces Command personnel made a flag jump from the cargo plane. The current phase of Distinguished Observer Day came to an end with the jump in which the flags of Azerbaijan and Turkey were unfurled.
A total of 1268 people participated in the exercise, along with 190 different vehicles, 218 different types and sizes of weapons were used.
ATTENDED THE MINISTER OF NATIONAL DEFENSE HULUSI AKAR
The “Distinguished Observer Day” of the winter exercise 2021 was completed and attended by the Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar and the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov. Akar and Hasanov, along with the Chief of the General Staff, General Yaşar Güler, the Commander of the Land Forces, General Ümit Dündar, the Commander of the Naval Forces, Admiral Adnan Özbal, and the Commander of the Air Force, General Hasan Küçükakyüz, they came to the exercise area to participate in “Distinguished Observer Day.”
Akar and Hasanov, who first traveled to the Main Command Center, were briefed on the exercise. Following the briefing on the exercise status summary given by the Head of the Analysis Group, Akar and Hasanov reviewed the new generation units.
Akar, who divided one of the breads made in the field bakery unit and served it to Hasanov and the commanders, also examined the armored ambulance of national and national production.
Akar and Hasanov then went on to Battle Track in Deep Snow and Severe Cold. Akar and Hasanov, who heard the command oath read by the command arm in winter gear, said “God bless the Turkish command” after the march.
