The guide for contact tracing, epidemic management, home monitoring of patients and radiation prepared by the Coronavirus Scientific Committee was updated and two items related to the process of treating people with mutations were added.
The articles added to the guide are as follows:
“With respect to variant strains;
Since the cohort of people infected with different strains (especially variant strains) in the same room can cause a new variant strain by causing recombination in viruses, it is recommended that patients be hospitalized in individual rooms as much as possible during this period.
Isolation of positive cases infected with the variant strain should be continued until at least the 10th day, and isolation should be terminated after negative results are observed with the PCR test. It is recommended that people who test positive after the 10th day continue to have a control test at 48 hour intervals.
With respect to variant strains;
The quarantine period for certain contact cases infected with the variant strain is at least 10 days, and at the end of this period, the quarantine should end up showing PCR negativity. “
