The Presidency of Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD) announced that a 5.1 magnitude earthquake occurred at 08:46 in the Karaburun district of Izmir.
The depth of the earthquake was recorded at 20.69 kilometers. The tremor was felt in and around the Karaburun district.
A minute later, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake occurred in the same area. The depth of this earthquake was also recorded at 7 kilometers.
Once again, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake occurred off Karaburun at 08.03.
Another 4.7 (Mw) earthquake occurred in Izmir at 09:00, with the epicenter at Karaburun.
EXPLANATION OF THE MINISTERIAL INSTITUTION
The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the Institution, made a statement about the earthquakes that occurred in Izmir one after another, saying: “Our teams have started their investigations. So far we have not found a negative situation or warning.”

Izmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger said they had not received any information so far about loss of life or damage in the magnitude 5.1 and 4.8 earthquakes that struck at one-minute intervals in Izmir’s Karaburun district.
Köşger claimed that after the earthquakes in the morning, a scan was conducted throughout the city.
The governor noted that so far no adverse situation has been reported.
Stating that explorations in the area are continuing, Köşger said: “So far no information has been received on loss of life or damage in earthquakes. Our explorations continue throughout the city, especially in Karaburun.” used expressions.
Karaburun Mayor İlkay Girgin Erdoğan stated that they carried out an extensive scan of the neighborhoods after the earthquakes and found no destruction or loss of life.
Erdogan stated that the teams continue their work on the ground.
