In Israel, only 0.015 percent of the 128,600 people who received the second dose of the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech contracted the corona virus (Covid-19).

The Maccabi Health Service in Israel shared with the public the results of its research on the infection rates of people who received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

In the study, only 20 of these people were found to be infected with Covid-19 a week after the second dose of the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech was administered to 128,600 people.

Anat Ekka Zohar, one of the names who conducted the study, said in a statement to the local press that none of the 20 people detected with the virus had a fever above 38.5 degrees or were not hospitalized.

Zohar noted that this may be an indication that the vaccine prevents the disease from getting worse, even if the virus is infected with the second dose.

In Israel, with a population of approximately 9.3 million, the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech started on December 20, 2020, and the second dose on January 9.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine was administered to 2 million 637 thousand 279 people and the second dose to 1 million 189 thousand 813 people.
