The pond, which was built for irrigation purposes in the village of İbrahim in the Alaca district of Çorum, was withdrawn about 100 meters from the shore due to drought. The Alacahöyük highway, which was located in the region and used in the past, came to light again.
According to data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, Çorum is one of the provinces with extraordinary drought. Although there was a significant decrease in reserves in the dams that provide drinking water due to the drought, ponds in rural areas were negatively affected by the drought.
While the water from the İbrahim village pond, which was built for irrigation purposes in the İbrahim village in the Alaca district, was withdrawing about 100 meters from the shore due to drought, the old Alacahöyük road, which was below the lake, it surfaced again.
The pond, which was built about 35 years ago, has the lowest water level in recent years. While farmers in the region who lived in the pond were concerned, the disturbing dimensions of the drought were seen from the air.
Stating that the pond was completely filled with water before, farmer Ali Rıza Baz said: “It hasn’t been raining since May. No drops fall here. This place was like the sea. It was like a derya. “Fish was being caught,” he said.

By emphasizing that water is life, Baz called for efficient use of water.
Explaining that agricultural lands such as dams and ponds were also affected by the drought, Baz said: “Previously, we had 4 springs in our village. The inhabitants of the town have a source that they take advantage of. No dripping water. We need to use water economically. If we are not economic, we cannot find water again. The land is over. A handful of water remains. What will we do next? ” I speak.
Emphasizing that water is more valuable than oil and gold, Baz said: “What will we do if there is no water? Man cannot live. I am also a beekeeper. Beekeeping has also ended due to drought and thirst. “We live without oil, but life without water is not possible.”
