A critical statement came from Professor Jean-Jacques Muyembe Tamfum, who helped uncover the Ebola epidemic.
Microbiologist Tamfum explained that there are new and potentially deadly viruses emerging from the rainforests of Africa.
“We are currently in a world where new pathogens will emerge and this is what poses a threat to humanity,” Tamfum said. “Future pandemics will be worse than Kovid-19,” he said.
“THE NEW PATHOGENIC COVID WILL SPREAD AS FAST AS 19”
A patient who did not want to reveal his identity in Ingende, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, was said to have shown the first symptoms of hemorrhagic fever and was tested for Ebola.
Professor Jean-Jacques Muyembe Tamfum stated that with the negative results, doctors were concerned that they could be the first person to spread ‘Disease X’, which means ‘unexpected’. Stating that the new pathogen could spread as fast as Covid-19, Tamfum suggested that Ebola could have a death rate of 50 to 90 percent. On the other hand, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), it was stated that Disease X is hypothetical, but scientists are concerned that if it occurs, it can cause serious diseases worldwide. Professor Tamfum also warned that many more zoonotic diseases, from animals to humans, could spread.
