The passenger who smoked on the plane that made the Sanliurfa-Istanbul flight was fined 2 thousand 603 TL.
In the incident on the Boeing 737-800 type aircraft, which carried out THY’s flight TK-2249 between Şanlıurfa and Istanbul, the cabin crews noticed that İ.HA, one of the passengers, was smoking in the rear toilet of the plane.
While the “illegal passenger” form was issued on the passenger, the pilot captain reported the problem to the Istanbul Airport Air Traffic Tower and asked the police to board the plane.

After the plane landed at the airport, the police team of the Istanbul Airport Police Department waited for the passenger at the door of the plane.

İ.HA, who got off the plane in the company of the police, was taken to the police station for processing. It was known that the passenger, whose registration was maintained, would be fined 2 thousand 603 Turkish liras by the DGCA.
“ILLEGAL PASSENGER”
According to DGCA regulations, those who use smoke-generating devices and tobacco products on board are considered “illegal passengers.” Administrative fines are imposed on irregular passengers and administrative penalty decisions can be appealed within 15 days from the date of notification. In addition, in cases such as the delay of the plane or having to land at another airport, airlines can also sue passengers who do not recognize the rules.

On the other hand, some airlines abroad blacklist passengers who do not know any rules. It does not sell tickets to these passengers for a lifetime or for a certain period of time.
