A total of 208 thousand 139 law enforcement officers, including 119 thousand 744 police officers, 86 thousand 270 gendarmes and 2 thousand 125 coast guards, will participate in the inspections that will be carried out with 45 thousand 22 teams between December 31 at 18:00 and the January 1 at 08:00. 14,729 of these personnel will be assigned to traffic inspections. In addition, within the framework of the New Year’s measures, the necessary controls will be carried out at 8,390 enforcement points throughout the country by the police and gendarmerie units.
AERIAL AND MARITIME INSPECTIONS WILL BE CARRIED OUT
Within the scope of the New Year’s measures, air and sea inspections will focus. The inspection work will be carried out with 113 flying elements (helicopters and drones) assigned by the forces of order from the air and 109 floating elements from the sea.
To review and follow up on the measures on the spot, vice ministers, especially Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, and senior managers from the ministry will be on the ground. Vice Ministers Mehmet Ersoy in Izmir, Muhterem Ince in Istanbul, Prof. Dr. Tayyip Sabri Erdil in Konya and Aksaray, General Manager of Police Mehmet Aktaş in Eskişehir and Bursa, Commander of the Coast Guard Rear Admiral Ahmet Kendir in Istanbul, General Manager of Migration Management Dr. Savaş Ünlü will examine the measures taken in Şanlıurfa, Major General Halis Zafer Koç, Deputy Commander General of the Gendarmerie, in Kırıkkale.
