In his speech at the first ordinary congress of his party, Ali Babacan, leader of the DEVA Party, drew attention to the discrimination and oppression that was exerted on the veil during the period of February 28 and could not contain tears when explaining the discrimination to which family members were subjected at that time.
I think the real target of Babacan’s remarks was the AK Party voters.
Because power is often “If we go, the pressures and prohibitions will return” it tries to keep its base attached to fear by making propaganda.
In other words, in my opinion, the purpose of Babacan’s attention to discrimination made on the veil in the past was to nullify the government’s propaganda to create fear at the grassroots by emphasizing that the same grievances were also experienced by his own family members. .
Perhaps this was the intention and goal of Ali Babacan, but still, in some circles, the emphasis on the victimization of the conservative segment over the past has created anxiety and reaction in some circles.
We cannot interpret this anxiety and reaction as a denial, ignoring or underestimating what happened in the past.
A large part of society, including some conservatives, was weary, weary, even disgusted with the understanding of politics in general based on the victim literature.
This boredom and disgust is behind the reaction to Ali Babacan’s tears.
Because the current government has been doing victim literature on past injustices against religious people for 18 years.
Furthermore, they justify the injustices, illegality, oppression and cruelty that they committed during this period, instead of following the policies of eliminating those wrongs and healing the wounds.
Whenever they open their mouth “They did this to us in the past” they say boza behind the back of society.
This government tirelessly used the grievances of religious people in the past to maintain its existence.
I regret to say that those grievances were violated by the hand of this power.
He lost his innocence.
The moral superiority of being a victim has been lost.
The use of religion as a stick by the current government, the imposition of a religious lifestyle on society, and its efforts to justify its corruption, injustice, and anarchy with religious arguments destroyed people’s feelings towards religion.
In society, even among some of the conservatives, there was a boredom based reaction not only against the emphasis on victimization but also against religious rituals.
Because politics based on victimization, tears and religious speech reminds people of Erdogan and his injustices, illegality and even the pain they have experienced.
Not only do they remind you, but those speeches legitimize the current government’s understanding of politics.
Reactions without taking all this into account, “Anti-democratic reactions” We cannot say and die.
On the other hand, in recent years unimaginable injustices and crimes have been committed in our country.
Hundreds of thousands of people lost their jobs, their bread and, in a sense, were condemned to starve.
Thousands of people are rotting in jail.
While millions of people suffer from unemployment, state cadres are filled with party sympathizers through undemocratic practices like interviews and security investigations.
“They did this to us in the past” millions of people live below the hunger line, while those who shed tears live in palaces with great pomp.
A lifestyle is imposed on society by citing past victimizations.
Almost every day, a joker disguised as a teacher insults and humiliates women by talking about how to dress, sit, laugh, and their career choices.
While all this is happening, although the purpose and intention are good, emphasizing the victimization of 20 years ago provokes the feeling that it mitigates, devalues, trivializes the injustices and illegality experienced today.
Let me repeat: doing politics about the victimization of religious people in the past has bored society.
I think that all politicians should take this into account.
Because, in my opinion, the correct policy is to take into account the emotion, pain, sadness and anxiety of the whole society and create a language according to it.
Yes, there have been great injustices and injustices about the veil in the past.
But today, while there is so much pain, destruction, injustice and illegality, it will do more harm than good to emphasize the victimization of the last 20 years and turn all these victims into victims.
The law no, the media is under control, the polarization of politics that was destroyed on the ground today generally wild enough to be difficult for politicians in Turkey, I am aware of that.
But politicians of conservative origin are more difficult to do.
Because whether they have served in the AK Party in the past or not, they unfortunately have their backs turned. ‘conservative politician’ They carry the luggage of the last 18 years within the framework of the definition.
I’m sorry to say that they all have a shadow of Erdogan on them.
It takes healthy language and style to be aware of this and create a sense of trust in society.
You need a policy that can speak to different segments, understand their feelings, and give them confidence.
Because the only problem is not to convince some of the rank and file of the AK Party, get their attention or separate them from the AK Party.
The main theme is to produce a policy that creates a social unit to establish democracy, freedom, law, equality, and merit in the country.
I have no doubts about the good will of Ali Babacan, since he does not pursue a political objective based on the literature of victims, in addition, he does not place the suffering of the past above what is experienced today.
In other words, I am aware that your words and tears in your speech in Congress are not like that.
But like I said, politics is not done with only good intentions.
An approach is needed that takes into account the feelings and thoughts of all segments of society and incorporates the correct style and words to express it.
