The trial of police officer İsmail Hakkı Sarıcaoğlu, who martyred Rize Police Chief Altuğ Verdi in his office on December 11, 2018, continued in Rize High Criminal Court. Former AKP Istanbul MP Metin Külünk was heard as a witness at the current hearing in the case that was held for the murder of Altuğ Verdi.
In his statement after the hearing, Külünk said: “Our dear prosecutor gave his opinion. From what I can see, we have reached the end of the trial process regarding the defendant. “There will be a decision hearing on January 7 and justice will be served.”
“Altug Verdi, he was a child so much that we love our families,” said Külünk “Turkey, with the martyrdom of Altug Verdi in the coming years will serve the state has lost a very valuable public administrator.” A son whom the state worked and raised to serve this country was martyred. FETÖ was a very sensitive public bureaucrat about to fight the terrorist organization, his soul rested ”.
Külünk said that they visited Altuğ Verdi at his office in Rize with the accompanying delegation on Saturday 3 days before his martyrdom and gave him very special information in the break room next to the office.
Külünk used the following statements:
* He showed me a piece of paper that he took out of his pocket saying ‘My brother will be running a big operation on Rize next week.
* Probably the names in the operation I was going to perform were in doubt, but it did not seem appropriate to ask a question to a public manager about himself due to my training, I did not ask who this operation would be carried out to.
* However, there was no doubt that the operation to be carried out was directed against FETÖ. I presented this information to the court as a witness. The court committee was also registered. İHA
