The DEVA Party, led by Ali Babacan, is holding its 1st Ordinary Congress in Ankara today. The highlights of Babacan’s speech are as follows:
– My sister, who was studying at METU on February 28, was suspended from school three times for covering her head. The reason I entered politics was a revolt against all these events. No one dares to reimpose this ban.
The oppressed in the past began to oppress others. The oppressed know what it means to be oppressed. Knowing what oppression is does not crush anyone else.
THEY SAY BEKA BEKA, THAT’S A PERSON’S WAITING!
– Treasury debt has doubled in the last two years. Isn’t a penalty a sin? Is this chair so precious? They say survival. This is the survival of a person. In two years considering the survival of his country, he cannot double this debt like this.
– I served as a minister for 13 years. Could you give an example, in what position did I put my relative? They cannot give a single example.
– They assign patrons to the municipalities one by one, and open the way to appoint patrons to the associations. If they are not shy, they will try to appoint political parties as trustees. When they say education, they think of school buildings, and when they say hospital, the construction of hospitals comes to mind! Head elsewhere!
– You see the wages of misery that humiliates the dignity of the worker and the day laborer. Look at the advertised minimum wage, they no longer know about the market or real life, it is a sin.
– We are with our desperate merchants. We support our farmers dealing with debts. We are with our retirees. We support all of our citizens who are despised for their ethnic identity. We are with our women who try to spread their cries all over the world. We support our youth who suffered injustice in interviews despite scoring high on tests.
