The family lawyer made a statement and confirmed the allegations, following allegations that a CHP deputy in Muğla called the father of Pınar Gültekin, who was brutally murdered by Cemal Metin Avcı, to drop the case. Lawyer Rezan Epözdemir said: “The father will announce the name of the deputy who is looking for him after the hearing on January 4.”

CHP Muğla MP Süleyman Girgin, who made a statement on his personal Twitter account after the allegations, stated that he was the only MP who called the family and said: “If there is the slightest evidence, the slightest technical finding, the slightest hint that I’m involved in the case, I’ll just be the CHP. “I promise that I will resign from the deputies, not the”, he said.

CHP EXPLANATION

CHP party spokesman Faik Öztrak assessed allegations that a CHP Muğla MP called Pınar Gültekin’s family and asked him to “withdraw from the case”.

Öztrak said:

“As CHP, we do not concede to such events. We do not allow such events in any way. But if these accusations are unfounded, we go through all kinds of legal proceedings related to this. Our dear deputy friend made his statement. I called the family to offer my condolences and spoke for 1.5 minutes. If these accusations are proven, he says, he would resign from the CHP and the deputy. We will legally deal with these unfounded claims.
