The family lawyer made a statement following allegations that a member of the CHP parliament in Muğla called the father of Pınar Gültekin, who was brutally murdered by Cemal Metin Avcı, to drop the case.
Speaking about the accusation made by Hürriyet newspaper columnist Fatih Çekirge, lawyer Rezan Epözdemir said: “I met the painful father. He said he had received that phone number and confirmed the accusations. ”
Regarding the allegations about the ongoing case at the 3rd High Criminal Court of Muğla, Epözdemir said: “The father will announce the name of the deputy he is looking for, after the hearing on January 4.”
SÜLEYMAN GİRGİN’S EXPLANATION
Making a statement on his personal Twitter account after the allegations, CHP Muğla MP Süleyman Girgin stated that he was the only MP who called the family and said:
“The day after Pınar Gültekin’s funeral (July 23), I had no dialogue with the family of the victims other than a search for condolences. However, I am surprised that a humanitarian search has reached this point. If any evidence emerges, the slightest technical finding, the slightest hint of my involvement in the case, I promise to resign not only from the CHP, but also from the MP. ”
