Following the reflection of this situation on social media, the General Directorate of Security and the Metropolitan Municipality of Antalya took action.
Mayor Muhittin Böcek stated that Çiftçi was placed in the municipality’s lodging house, and the General Directorate of Security apologized for the matter.
In the statement made by the General Security Directorate, the following statements were made:
Our police are doing their duty here. However, we accept that we have to act in accordance with the content of this event. We meet Ali Çiftçi again. We provide him with the necessary sustenance and shelter, we made ourselves lawful … We will transfer him to his hometown. Our cop friend is sad too. We fix it, we apologize.
