WILL MINIMUM WAGE SUPPORT CONTINUE?
With the 30 percent increase in the minimum wage applied in 2016, government support has been given to the minimum wage since the same year. The aid amount, which started at 100 lira per worker per month, was 100 lira for workplaces employing more than 500 workers and 150 lira for workplaces with fewer than 500 workers last year. This year, a monthly support of TL 75 per worker was provided for all workplaces. Labor and employer unions want support for the minimum wage to continue next year, but it is not yet clear whether support will continue in 2021.
WHAT WILL BE THE MINIMUM LIFE DISCOUNT AGI 2021?
The minimum allowance for life (AGI) that applies to anyone who receives wage income, including workers and civil servants, is determined according to the minimum wage. The monthly AGI amount for a single worker, which was TL 220.73 in 2020, will increase to TL 247.21 with a 12 percent increase, to TL 253.84 with a 15 percent increase, to TL 258, 17 TL with an increase of 17 percent and 264.87 TL with an increase of 20 percent.
