The epidemic finally found me. My last Covid test was positive.
My situation is a little different from other patients. As you know, I voluntarily participated in vaccine studies and received the first dose of vaccine. I had announced this to the public and also said that I would report the developments.
Therefore, I would like to explain the situation a bit. Because I don’t want my Covid test to be positive to create a negative perception of vaccine studies.
The situation developed as follows:
As you know, we volunteered for Phase 3 vaccination studies with a group of journalist friends.
I had a virus test on December 15, 2020. My test result was negative on December 16. They told me I could participate in vaccination studies. I was vaccinated on December 17.
I have not noticed any side effects for two days. On the third day, I saw a mild fever, mild headache and muscle aches. However, our doctors were unable to fully determine if this was due to the cold or the side effect of the vaccine, or (as a bad scenario) due to my infection in the meantime.
Then it was decided to perform a smear test and blood test. I finished both. On December 22, my Covid test came back positive. However, it was noted that there was no problem with my blood values.
I also didn’t see any serious problems in myself physically. Our doctors said that they would not do anything except that I was quarantined at home for ten days and my health was very good.
I will not be able to receive the second dose of the vaccine due to transmission of the virus after receiving the first dose. Therefore, I was excluded from the vaccination studies.
I wanted to inform the public in particular that this situation would not lead to speculation that “the vaccine does not work” and that “the vaccine is infected”.
The time of generation of antibodies from the vaccine to the antivirus is already expected fourteen days after the second dose of vaccine. In other words, it was determined that approximately 28 days after the first dose of vaccine, the antibody will form and provide protection to a great extent.
Since I was only exposed to the virus shortly after the first dose, naturally the vaccine was not expected to provide protection or improvement. This was seen in some of the other vaccinated volunteers. I have been added to literature as an example of this. The reason we volunteered was that the findings that emerged in us contributed to scientific studies.
I would like to emphasize once again that vaccination studies are of vital importance to public health. I remind you once again that no one except scientists, especially our members of the scientific council, should pay attention to what is being said …
Professor, whom I met due to vaccination studies and was very interested. Dr. Chief Medical Officer of Cemil Taşçıoğlu Hospital Prof. Hakan Gürbüz, who coordinated the vaccine study, Prof. Mustafa Taner Yildırmak, member of the scientific committee Prof. I would like to express my gratitude to Ateş Kara and our other Ministry employees, Hakkı Kırkaya and Kübra Sunkar.
Once again, I have observed closely that our entire healthcare team is working in very difficult conditions. May God help you all.
On this occasion, I wish that all our patients contract the virus with an urgent cure, God’s mercy for those who lost their lives due to this disease and patience for their families.
I’ll stay away from the screens for a while, but I’ll keep writing.
I respectfully present the information of our readers and viewers.
