Olay TV closes: a new channel is on the agenda

It came on the agenda that Olay TV will darken employee screens on December 25, 2020 after paying their accounts receivable. It was stated that the channel will continue to broadcast under another name and logo.

The live broadcast of the HDP Group Meeting of the Turkish Grand National Assembly caused unrest in the AKP and it was alleged that Çağlar was under pressure from the government.

ASSOCIATION CRISIS CLAIM

Olay TV, owned by former minister of state businessman Cavit Çağlar and moved its headquarters from Bursa to Istanbul, entered its broadcast cycle on November 30, 2020.

It became known that former Kanal D news coordinator Süleyman Sarılar managed and added many flash names to his staff and there was a partnership crisis on the channel.

SARS: THE SPOKEN CLAIMS

While Cavit Çağlar did not make a statement, the channel’s editor-in-chief Süleyman Sarılar said: “Until the official statement is made, all that is said is the size of the claim.”

CLAIM “LOOKING FOR ANOTHER FREQUENCY”

It was also reported that those responsible for the channel were looking for a different frequency and that the frequency would be bought and it would continue to broadcast with another name and logo. As the accusations about Olay TV unfolded, more than 180 journalists working for the channel began to worry about being unemployed.

It was decided to close on December 25, 2020

According to MedyaRadar’s claim, Cavit Çağlar, who owns the frequency and name rights to Olay TV, has reached a dispute with Hüseyin Köksal, a Trabzon businessman, who provided 70 percent of the channel’s financing.

As the dispute could not be resolved, it was decided to close Olay TV as of December 25, 2020.

Under the departure of Cavit Çağlar, it is claimed that the HDP group meeting was broadcast from beginning to end only on Olay TV between news channels.
