Güven was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison for “belonging to an armed terrorist organization” in another case in which she was tried by the Second Higher Criminal Court of Diyarbakır. The decision was confirmed by the 16th Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court. At the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the presidential decrees on the final judgments handed down by the HDP court for Güven were read on June 4. According to the Constitution, Leyla Güven’s parliamentary membership was eliminated after the motion in the General Assembly.
