Efforts to determine the new minimum wage, which directly affects almost 7 million employees and indirectly all citizens, are coming to an end.

He expressed the view that a balanced minimum wage should be determined to reduce pressure on the sectors in the situation.
How is the new minimum wage determined?
The minimum wage is determined by the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which consists of 15 people, 5 workers, employers and government representatives. The Commission meets four times to determine the new minimum wage.
The commission, chaired by one of the members determined by the Ministry, meets with the participation of at least 10 members and decides by majority vote. In case of equality of votes, it is accepted that the side of the president provides the majority.

The minimum wage is currently 2,943 lire gross per month for a single worker and net 2,324 lire 71 kuruş when taxes and deductions are reduced. For apartment workers, unlike normal workers, the net 2,501 lira is calculated at 55 kurus as income and stamp taxes are not levied.
The total cost of the minimum wage for the employer is 3,458 lire for a worker. This is 2,943 lira gross minimum wage, 456 lira 17 kuruş social security premium, 58 lira 86 kuruş employer unemployment insurance fund.
