The incident took place in the Closed Psychiatric Service for Women on the third floor of the Samsun Illness and Mental Health Hospital, located in the Kışla district of İlkadım district, around 04:30. According to the information obtained, Arife K., 28, who had been hospitalized for 2 months with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder, killed Nadiye Yıldız (46), who had been admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of schizophrenia for 1 year, and the strangled with a pillow on his bed.
When Arife K. told the cleaning officer of the service that the incident had occurred, he killed Nadiye Yıldız by strangling her with a pillow. During the control, Nadiye Yıldız was determined to be dead. The incident was reported to the police. Arife K. was arrested by teams from the Office of Murders of the Directorate of the Division of Public Safety of the Samsun Police Department. Nadiye Yıldız’s body was taken to the morgue of Samsun Research and Training Hospital for autopsy. It was learned that Arife K. said that he killed Nadiye Yıldız by strangling her with a pillow while she slept, thinking it would kill her.
