A fire broke out in the SANKO University Hospital COVID-19 intensive care unit in the morning as a result of the high-flow oxygen device and the affected oxygen system.
It was announced that the number of people who lost their lives in the incident increased to 10. Health Minister Fahrettin Koca shared on his social media account: “One more patient died in the hospital where he was transferred due to the sad incident that took place in Gaziantep. Our loss of life increased to 10. I wish God’s mercy to the deceased and my deepest condolences to his relatives.

As a result of being affected by the fire, Mehmet Reşit Saydanoğlu (75), Fethiye Kırca (78), Naciye Ulukütük (56), Abdi Hamzaoğlu (68), Elif Akgül (85), Ökkaş Akbulut (69), Kahraman Taş (71 ) and Ali Daşdemir Saffet Kanpolat (64) lost his life.
INSPECTOR HAS BEEN ASSIGNED
The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services announced that an inspector was appointed for the explosion.
