At the last minute, the Ministry of National Education (MEB) announced that distance education has been extended until Friday, January 22, 2021, when the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year will be completed.
Within the framework of the Covid-19 outbreak measures of the Ministry of National Education, a press release was issued on the distance education process, exams in schools and new regulations on semester recess hours. Accordingly, there will be no exams in the elementary schools, the grades on the report card will be determined by the participation score in the course activities.
In middle and high schools, one (1) written / application score and performance grades will be assessed in the first period. The examinations of the branches that do not have an exam grade will be carried out in the school environment and in diluted groups according to the measures of social distance / hygiene. In order to reduce mobility between provinces, only high school students will be able to take exams in the provinces where they are from ‘that date’, provided that their parents report to the school administration until Monday December 28, as long as they are in the same type of school as the school they were studying.

Distance education in elementary, middle and high schools will continue until Friday, January 22, 2021, when the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year will be completed. As of January 22, the distribution of the report cards will be planned by the administrations of the educational institutions in such a way that it does not generate intensity by being distributed in different days and time zones.
THE SECOND SEMESTER WILL BEGIN ON FEBRUARY 15
The semester break will begin on Monday, January 25, and a one-week break will be added in the second quarter. Thus, the second semester of the 2020-2021 academic year will begin on Monday, February 15, 2021.
