De Blekeer posted a detailed table on his Twitter account, after an opposition lawmaker asked and criticized how the government would cover the cost of coronavirus vaccines.

In the table, the number of coronavirus vaccines Belgium plans to buy, the unit price to pay per dose and the total cost according to the agreement made by the EU Commission. According to De Blekeer, Belgium will pay a total of 279 million 120 thousand 190 euros for 33.5 million doses of vaccine.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which is permitted by the United Kingdom and the United States, is expected to be approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) next week. The president of the EU Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, declared that European countries will start to implement the coronavirus vaccine from December 27.
The most expensive vaccine on the list is the product developed by Moderna and requested a conditional marketing authorization from the EMA. European countries will pay 18 euros per dose for the Moderna vaccine.
The Moderna vaccine, which is currently under review by the EMA, is expected to receive a conditional marketing authorization in Europe no later than January 12.
