Membership of the Constitutional Court (AYM) was announced yesterday as a result of the election. While İrfan Fidan, Nevzat Özsoy and Mustafa Erol received the most votes, AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will send one of the three names to the Constitutional Court.
In the election, former Istanbul chief prosecutor İrfan Fidan, who was appointed to the Court of Cassation, received 107 votes, Nevzat Özsoy 65 votes and Mustafa Erol 52 votes.
Judge Ali Haydar Yücesoy, who was assigned to Istanbul’s Afyonkarahisar against his will, evaluated the results of the election for his membership in the Constitutional Court.
Yücesoy shared the following messages, saying “I’m telling you to make a note in the story”, in her social media posts:
“The protocol office came from the office of the chief prosecutor, someone who has not been an active member of the Supreme Court for even one day, received the most votes from the members of the Supreme Court in choosing candidates to be appointed. to the Constitutional Court. However, a member goes to the Constitutional Court from the Court of Cassation to benefit from the experience and competence of being a judge.
I have no doubt that these events will one day come and be remembered as a warning on behalf of our judgment … When that day comes, everyone will say, but if I don’t fulfill my responsibility to say today, my heart will dry up. I say this to take note of the story: I am ashamed of myself as a judge. “
