LAWYERS PRESENTED THAT
Shiraishi’s lawyers argued that the women consented to be killed and that therefore the defendant’s charges should be reduced. However, Shiraishi said his lawyers opposed his defense and killed people without his consent.
Describing the killings in his defense, Shiraishi stated that he disarmed the corpses and threw the meat in the trash, but kept the bones in cold boxes so the bones would not attract attention. Japanese media wrote that Shiraishi would gladly accept the penalty of death.

Stating that he regretted killing the people he spent a lot of time with in the last hearing, Shiraishi apologized to the families of these people.
