EXPLANATION BY THE PRESIDENT OF IRAN
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani gave an assessment of the poem that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan read in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, at a press conference in the capital, Tehran.
Regarding the poem Erdogan read, Rouhani said: “I do not think that Erdogan is an insult to the territorial integrity of Iran.”
Noting that President Erdogan used to read poems by Sadi, Hafez, and Mevlana, Rouhani used the following statements:
* The meaning of this poem in Iran and abroad is not the same. The Turkish authorities reported that they had no intention of Iran regarding the poetry.
* The same Erdogan speech in Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia can work together, he said.
* We must also pay attention to the before and after your intervention.
Stating that they have a 7-year history with President Erdogan, Rouhani said: “All the statements made show that we can leave this issue behind.”
