ESNAFA RENTAL SUPPORT
The increase in the epidemic in many places makes our work difficult. Despite everything, we will continue to walk towards our goals to take our steps to maintain investment, employment and productivity.
Together with all our citizens, we were with our merchants and merchants. The amount of cash support we provided reached 45 billion lira. We continue to support our traders and traders sincerely today as we did yesterday. To do this, we reduced the interest and retention rates of the deposit and participation accounts in Turkish lira. Recently, market-friendly measures have been taken to increase confidence in Turkish lira assets. There was a decrease in the risk premium and an appreciation of the Turkish lira. During the 18 years that we have been in power, we have been in charge of maintaining fiscal discipline. The central government had set the ratio between the budget deficit and national income as a target of 4.9% for 2020. The results show that it will close 2020 with a budget deficit below 4.5%. I hope our citizens support our fight by converting their foreign currency savings to TL. The ratio of total debt to national income in Turkey is at a manageable level at 167 percent. Our country has the support that national and foreign investors need thanks to its solid banking system. How we handled inflation in the past and if we reduced it to single digits, we will now provide it.
At our last cabinet meeting, we shared the additional measures with our nation. Today we evaluate the results. We are beginning to see the positive effects of the measures we implement. It is a national duty for all of us to succeed in this fight. In this context, I want to share some good news with our nation.
We are extending the retention period, which we reduced from 20% to 10% until the end of the year, until June 1.
We will continue to apply the VAT rate on the job rental service, which we reduced from 18% to 8%, until June 1.
We are extending VAT discounts, which cover many sectors, until June 1.
