The incident took place at the Çankaya District Barracks, Boztepe Mahallesi, 227th Street, around 23:00. Serhat Tua, who was kicked out of the house by his family, reportedly started a fire to warm himself in the shed where he had been with his friends for a while. When sparks from the fire ignited the shed, the locals, noticing the growing flames, rushed to help. Serhat Tua was trapped inside while local residents pulled out an injured person. Following the warning, many policemen, firefighters and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters put out the fire in a short time, while medical teams took the injured to hospital after the first response at the scene. An examination carried out at the barracks determined that Tua, who was caught in the flames, died at the scene.
