The European Union will be decided on the draft agenda of the Leaders’ Summit for sanctions on Turkey, unearthed by Reuters. The draft included the article according to which EU leaders could impose sanctions on people and companies who carry out drilling in the eastern Mediterranean. After the development, the palace’s first reaction came from presidential spokesman İbrahim Kalın.

WHAT HAPPENED?
According to Reuters, “if the decision is agreed, the list will be expanded by adding it to an EU sanctions list that has been in effect since 2019.” Internal discussions seeking information that diplomats, Greece and Cyprus, Turkey faces a sanction to carry out the drilling operation that was approved unsatisfactorily. Until now, Turkey Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) were the only two top officials on the sanctions list.
