We see the desire of our teachers to teach English at the highest level and with more innovative methods as the starting point of this project. English is considered today as the global language of communication. Almost 90 percent of scientific studies worldwide are conducted in English. Language learning is young people’s window to the world. “If qualified education in English is widely provided in our country, our youth will have first-hand access to scientific resources from around the world.”
“WE ARE OBJECTIVE TO TEACH 37 THOUSAND ENGLISH”
Adnan Boyacı, Managing Director for Teacher Training and Development, said: “In the first phase of the project, we completed nationally and internationally accredited online and face-to-face professional development trainings in cooperation with the British Council to support the ongoing professional development of our English teachers working in secondary schools in Ankara. We opened 256,700 people to apply. We prepare two books with educational content and share them with our teachers. In the second and third phases of the project, we intend to reach a total of 37 thousand teachers of English ”.
Participation in the program was limited due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At the end of the program, a souvenir photo was taken in accordance with the rules of the pandemic, respecting social distance.
