The accusations about the death of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were answered by a source close to Khamenei’s office.
Mehdi Fezaeli, deputy director of the Institute for Research and Culture of the Iranian Revolution, denied allegations that “the country’s leader, Ali Khamenei, was in poor health.”
According to an Iranian journalist’s post on his social media account on Saturday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei allegedly handed over his position to his son due to health problems.
The Iranian journalist wrote that he was concerned for the 81-year-old leader’s health and “very concerned” about the deteriorating condition of his relatives. Following these accusations, accusations that Khamenei’s health condition worsened and that he lost his life were on the social media agenda.
In the news that Reuters quoted Iran-based news agency Fars, a source close to Khamenei’s office denied the allegations, saying that his health condition was good.
