The Health Ministry issued a written statement that a change was made to the quarantine period for close contacts.
In the statement made by the Ministry the following statements were made: “According to scientific studies, updates made by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the European Center for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) are instantly followed by our country and are integrated into our guidelines.
The termination of the close contact person quarantine has been updated as follows:
“Close contacts are quarantined for 10 days.
* The quarantine of people who do not develop any symptoms during the quarantine period ends at the end of the 10th day without PCR. However, these people continue with the measures to be followed in society.
* Additionally, quarantine may be terminated at the end of the seventh day, depending on the result of the PCR test, in people who have close contact and do not develop symptoms during follow-up.
* The PCR test can only be performed by taking samples at home after at least the fifth day if the capacity is adequate.
* Quarantine ends at the end of the seventh day for people with negative PCR tests and no symptoms.
* The close contact quarantine cannot be terminated before 7 days. Employees can return to work on the eighth day.
* This application does not apply in areas where high-risk people are cared for (nursing homes, prisons, people with low immunity, etc. collective life). However, these people continue with the measures to be followed in society ”.
The guide also warned: “To reduce the spread of disease and close contact during the pandemic period, workplaces should be organized as well-ventilated areas and 1 person for every 4 square meters.”
