Inflation figures Announced.
Inflation reached its annual peak in November.
According to data released by the Turkish Institute of Statistics, the consumer price index recorded a year earlier in November, an increase of 14.03 percent over the same period. The monthly increase was 2.3 percent.
The lowest annual increase was in the group of alcoholic beverages and tobacco with 0.67%
The other large groups with a low increase compared to the same month of the previous year were clothing and footwear with 0.99%, communication with 5.19% and education with 7.00%, respectively. On the other hand, the main groups with the greatest increase compared to the same month of the previous year were miscellaneous goods and services with 29.42%, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 21.08% and transportation with 18.67%, respectively.
The only group that showed a monthly decrease was education with 0.19%
Regarding the main expenditure groups, the only main group that decreased in November 2020 was education with 0.19%. Although there was no monthly variation in the main group of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, the groups that showed the lowest increase were communication with 0.12% and health with 0.80%. On the other hand, the groups with high increases in November 2020 by main spending groups were transportation with 4.51%, food and soft drinks with 4.16% and household goods with 1.69%, respectively.
In November 2020, the average price of 54 items out of 418 items covered in the index decreased, while the average price of 42 items was unchanged. The average price of 322 items increased.
The special CPI indicator (B) increased 13.72% annually and 2.14% monthly
In the CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold, in November 2020, 2.14% compared to the previous month, 13.26% compared to December of the previous year, 13.72% compared to the same month of the previous year and an increase of 11.50% compared to the twelve-month averages.
