WALL – Beyoğlu District Governor Mustafa Demirelli announced the decisions made in the field of fighting the epidemic on his social media account.
Demirelli’s messages are as follows:
1- Dear inhabitants of Istanbul, within the scope of the # Coronavirus measures, we have restricted the entrance to # Istiklal Street with the Decision of the District Hygiene Board to reduce the risk of contamination caused by human density.
2- There will be 7000 people at the same time on the side of the street from the entrance of Taksim Square to Tunnel Square, and if the density increases, we will temporarily stop the entrances.
3- At the same time, since walking face to face further increases the risk of contamination, we decided to accept the tram as the middle ground and that everyone should walk on the right. The restriction will take effect tomorrow at 10:00 am.
4- We had to make this decision in order to reduce the risk of contamination and that the street was crowded. We hope that all merchants and business owners on the street, our citizens and all our foreign guests will welcome us and abide by these restrictions. (NEWS CENTER)
